So even though my buddy Kirby suggested I blog about things I care about, I just can't seem to get it together to spend 15 minutes every few days to do it. Probably a good sign. I've been fixing up a house, working 2 jobs and trying to figure out what a career in child advocacy looks like...then blam...I was hired by Communities for Teaching Excellence to be their Pittsburgh Organizer. Challenges are many, but I am constantly amazed at the civic mindedness, commonsense, and general friendliness of those I meet in Pittsburgh. There's magic here in the people I've met on the Obama Campaign, with the United Way and through the Power of 32.
So I'm fired up and ready to find parents, caregivers, teachers and students who want to make sure there's an effective teacher for every student in every class, every year. If you want to join me, leave a comment here, and I'll get back to you.
